The Missions Teams at Reynoldsburg UMC has a three-step approach to leading our church community to engage our world in local and global missions: Pray: Everyone can pray for our mission partners and the teams we send to support them. Give: We are invited to support missions each week through our tithes and special offerings. Also, all loose coins received support our mission efforts and give opportunities for those with limited resources to go on a mission trip. When we give, God changes the world. Go: We partner with leaders around the corner and across the world and regularly commission teams to serve with these leaders in their local settings.
The Broken Bean Coffee House | NOW OPEN
We are very exciting to announce a new and improved cafe with the opening of The Broken Bean Coffee House! We partner with McCurdy Ministries to surround the students and families of McCurdy Charter School with ministry, in the name of Jesus Christ, to help them succeed in school and in life. In late spring of 2017, the new school building for the charter school will be completed and will open for students in the fall of 2017 (K-12). Teams that serve in August of 2017 can expect to work on projects including: construction, painting, lawn maintenance remodeling and much more. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
SOWER is a West Ohio Conference mission that builds a home each year for a needy family in southeastern Kentucky, working out of Henderson Settlement in Frakes. A team from RUMC that will frame the house May 7-13 currently needs four more servants to complete the team. For more information, email email@example.com or check the SOWER page on Facebook.
Work Camp: For over 40 years, students from Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church have shown the love of Christ by spending a week performing home maintenance, repair, yard work and vacation Bible school for people and churches who cannot afford the work or program. Every summer, hundreds of students from grades 7-12 give up a week or more of their summer vacation to go live, work and worship in some of the poorest communities in Ohio. Along with adult leaders, these young people work from morning until evening serving God’s people as the hands and feet of Christ. People are blessed and lives are changed.
The SOWER Project in Henderson Settlement in Southeastern Kentucky: We partner in helping build a home every year for those who cannot afford it for themselves. In this area of Kentucky, most families live below the poverty line and the unemployment rate is at 34%. In 2013, the SOWER (Sharing Our Witness, Enriching Relationships) Mission Teams helped build the tenth new home from the foundation up.

The McCurdy Charter School in Espanola, New Mexico: We partner with this former mission school to provide an excellent education to under-served children and their families. We raise money to help purchase much-needed supplies for the school including a van, equipment for the cafeteria and equipment for the preschool. Teams who travel to McCurdy help where they are needed – including building, painting, cleaning and more.
Emergency Response Teams: Mission teams are mobilized when there is an urgent need in a community across the country after a natural disaster. Teams have traveled to Alabama, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Our Team in Arkansas: A group of high school and college age servants traveled to Arkansas to help in the clean-up after a series of destructive tornadoes in Spring 2014.
Global Missions: This is our missions focus outside of our immediate community. From Kentucky to New Mexico to Uganda to Romania, our global missions philosophy is to develop long-term partnerships with Christian leaders and their faith communities and find ways to deepen our relationships as we support and encourage one another. Our missions teams also respond when a natural disaster or other emergency has impacted a community and help is needed.
The Methodist Church of Duplan, Haiti: We built and supported a medical clinic, a school, and a borehole well. We regularly provide leadership training for Christian leaders in the community. Teams who travel to Duplan often work manual labor but also spent time fellowshipping with the people of Duplan.
